Janapada Siri is an effort to record and preserve the rich folklore traditions of our rural communities.
In earlier times, life was deeply connected with song. People sang while putting a child to sleep, while sowing seeds, during daily chores, farming, and in many small moments of everyday life. These songs carried emotion, wisdom, and the rhythm of living.
Today, as generations pass, many of these voices are slowly fading, and with them, a valuable part of our cultural memory.
Through Janapada Siri, we travel to villages, meet elders and local communities, and carefully record these songs and oral traditions. Each recording is preserved and organised into a growing digital archive, ensuring that these voices are not lost.
This is more than preservation—it is an effort to revive and carry forward a living heritage, making it accessible to future generations.
